It has the weight needed for a large room and falls in a way that gives the curtain a fuller finish. That matters when the ceiling is high or the window spans a large section of the wall. Velvet curtains also work particularly well in majlis interiors where the seating, lighting and wall finishes already have a stronger presence. Instead of disappearing into the room, the curtain becomes part of the overall interior. We normally choose the shade after seeing the flooring, furniture and natural light on site because the same velvet can look very different under Riyadh daylight.
Large villas are also where motorized curtains make the most sense. A wide curtain or a tall window should not need to be pulled by hand every morning and evening. Motorized systems allow you to open and close large curtains smoothly using a remote, wall control or compatible smart home setup. For new villas, we can also plan smart curtains as part of the wider automation system so the curtain control feels built into the property rather than added later. This is especially useful for high windows, double height reception areas and rooms with several curtain sections.
